Stack them up for a sturdy shoe rack
My apartment has a dead space behind the entry door that would be perfect for a shoe rack/entry shelf, but none of the shoe racks I looked at were sturdy enough, or held enough shoes. Enter this ClosetMaid stackable organizer. I found the 24″ and 31″ version on sale at a local store, and bought 2 of the 24″ Alder version. The laminate shelves are easy to put together, with just 4 screws each, and stack nicely one on top of the other. With my small shoe size, I can get 3 pairs of shoes on each shelf, including below the bottom shelf, for 12 pairs of shoes total. In addition to shoes, I’ve put baskets on the top shelf for keys, scarves, gloves, and other miscellaneous items that always collect by the door. For an idea of the shelf size, see the image I’ve uploaded above.
Being particle board and laminate, this isn’t the most beautiful piece of furniture in the room, but it is still a cute, sturdy shelf for my entry shelf.
Great Product! …A little pricey here
I bought one of these, looking to organize a lot of baking supplies within a cabinet. It’s quick and easy to build, and… I actually found it for half the price at Home Depot.
I purchased these shelves to organize my shoes at the bottom of my closet. They work perfectly! My shoes look wonderful on the shelves. They were easy to assemble and are sturdy enough for moving around if I ever choose to do that.
Cheap but functional
When I say cheap, I mean cheaply made. When I put the organizer together, parts of the product started to crack. It was not expensive, so I guess I did not expect much, but I also did not want it to break as soon as I got it. It still works and I hid the cracks with glue and nail polish.
Why I gave it five stars…
Okay so, It’s not amazing quality or anything but it does what it says, organizes. I use this for my shoes, BUT I wear usually 4-7 inch heels and they did not fit in it, so what I did was remove the middle shelf. And I bought a few of these and I stacked them. IT WORKS PERFECTLY. I now can see all my shoes and makes getting ready so much easier. I will post a picture of it as well. Now, the shelf is very wobbly but it’s not like I’m running into it every day or taking a leaf blower to it (lol) so it holds up just fine. I keep it in my closet underneath my clothes and it never falls over. I would even suggest to put it up against a wall for more sturdy-ness. Anyways I love it and am about to purchase more
Works great for Laptops
Needed a solution for storing three family laptops in our family room – couldn’t find ANYTHING that was not $1000 (designed for schools or companies with dozens of laptops like on a cart). This worked PERFECTLY tucked against a wall. Each laptop is on top of a lapdesk – various sizes, but they all just slide right onto their shelf out of the way – even with the mouse pad still in place. A great way to keep the laptops out of the way when not in use.
Closet Organizer Review
Nice product. Easy to assemble with well described instructions. The little white plastic screw covers are a waste of time and effort. Good value. Shipped quickly.
Perfect and inexpensive organization!
I wanted something that would organize lots of small items. This is PERFECT! I got $1 bins at Target and was able to organize my son’s smaller toys. Three bins (13 5/8″ x 8 1/4″ x 4 7/8″)fit perfectly on each shelf. I stacked 3 of these shelf sets. I liked it so much that I bought more for my other closets!
Pretty darn good!
So inexpensive – I thought to myself – why am I buying this – but when I got it, it built nicely and ended up being a very sturdy shoe rack. It’s better than the wire ones because it doesn’t rattle, doesn’t move, doesn’t change shape, shelves don’t come off. Love the fact that it has 3 places to put shoes (1. floor, 2. first shelf 3. top shelf). Works so great and worry free!
